A World Savior Is Born: By Silis Muhammad CEO of the Lost-Found Nation of Islam

Please take your seats.

As salaam alaikum, I couldn't help but hear the singing of music across the way, as our National Representative Kuba Abu Kuss spoke. I hope it was not too distracting to you. I generally like quiet and peace when I am lecturing. It is a bit disturbing to me. To have to compete and or contend with the music next door. You and I both know that the message brought to you by Master Fard Muhammad whose birthday we celebrate today, is not a very popular message in America. It's not a message that America would want you to know.  So the thought can not help but to enter my mind whether or not this is deliberate. Perhaps it isn't, but the question is raised. And beyond that they really don't sound that bad, do they. I would like to share a couple of feelings with you before I get into my subject, well three (3) feelings.

One is that when sister stood here and ask you for charity. I thought, well that's good. Then she spoke a bit. And I mean no criticism in the way of not lifting your spirit up sister for what you did. But I feel that I should say this. That when she came right back and said past the bucket again. I couldn't help but feel something and what I felt, was no. Don't do that. I even had the impulse to get up and ask her.  No, no, stop, don't take up that - don't do that right now. It's alright to take two collections. But at least wait for a while and let me talk to my people. And maybe they will feel like giving something. I didn't like that. Because I don't want you to get the impression or the understanding, that this is about ripping you off. Or making you contribute to some - I didn't like it. What held me in my seat and kept me from speaking or stopping you. Was, I remembered a story that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad told, peace be upon him, the story was that he was called Kareem at the time our Savior Master Fard Muhammad was here. And the rent was due on the mosque or the place where they were teaching. And He and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad were like backstage. And He told the Honorable Elijah Muhammad go out there and ask the people for it. They will give it to you. The money you need to pay the back rent or the rent on the building.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, peace be upon him, his love, his concern, his knowledge about you caused him to hesitate. He didn't want to come out and ask you for any money. I'm talking about the 1930s. He knew your condition he knew you didn't have the money. And he didn't want to go out before the public and ask them for money. The Savior Master Fard Muhammad to whom all praises are due forever. Said to him go on Kareem, that's what he was called at that time. Go on and ask them for the money. So finally, he got up enough courage to come out and ask the people for the money. And one sister went home and got a - I believe it was a cookie jar or a tin can that she had been saving money in and paid the whole rent herself. That little story kept me in my seat.

The other moment I'd like to share with you. Is that I have hear you referred to, even in this hour as African American. I'd like to correct that statement and say that you are the so-called African American. And as you proceed with your work studies and those persons who refer to you as African American correct them. Say that you are a so-called African American.

You're called this because the people who named you African American don't know who you are. So, they are trying to find names for you. Prior to being called African American you were called Black, just prior to that you were called Black, that was during the sixties (1960's). And just prior to that you were called Colored, that was during the 50's, 40's, and 30's. Prior to that you were called Negro, that was during the 20's etc. and prior to that you were called a slave. So, in essence you really don't know or those persons who are trying to give you names, don't know who or what you are. So, refer to yourselves as they call you African American. Well, I am a so-called African American. until you have learned and excepted who, and what you are.

The third (3rd) feeling I'd like to share with you is: The title of my subject is "A World Savior Is Born", and in giving this subject that title. I couldn't help but to think that some of you might think that I have reference to myself. I'd like to assure you that I have reference to Master Fard Muhammad. This is the world Savior that is born. In addition, I named this title for this particular message prior to the Gulf Crises. And I prepared my lecture prior to the ground war. Now America today, is involved in war, in the Mid-East. And I'm going to discuss with you, some aspects of the problem in the Mid-East. This is a very touchy subject.
